James and Justine Williams – Mt Cotton, who had a beautiful wedding ceremony

Wedding ceremonies

Working with an experienced and friendly celebrant means you can be certain all will go well in the planning of your ceremony. It also means you’ve got a professional on hand on the day, someone who will make sure you have a perfect ceremony whatever hiccups ensue on the day.

There are many types of wedding ceremonies to choose from. I’m here to draw on my experience to make suggestions and help you with many options, so that your day will always be uniquely yours.

Your ceremony can be held wherever you choose. I’m based in Brisbane but happy to travel throughout Queensland and interstate.

A good rapport (with your celebrant, not just each other!) is the key to a stress-free wedding day. Ben and Megan Dahl – Woodford

Unions

At our first meeting we fill out all required pre wedding paperwork and we’ll get to know each other. Your thoughts, needs, your cultural backgrounds and your hopes for your wedding day, together we’ll create a plan for a ceremony that fits you both perfectly.

You’ll quickly discover that I’m an outgoing, caring, fun loving person who is always professional. I love getting to know you both. Having a good rapport with my couples is the key to stress-free wedding planning and therefore a relaxed wedding day.

Together we’ll design a ceremony that will be ideal to celebrate your relationship and keep your guests engaged. On the day, I’ll ensure that all your guests can hear and enjoy your ceremony.

“After our first meeting, we felt as if we had been friends with you for years. We were so relaxed in your company.”

What better way to celebrate a special anniversary than with a renewal ceremony? John and Barbara Roberts – Wynnum

Renewal of vows/affirmation ceremony

These ceremonies are for married couples who wish to celebrate their love and commitment to one another all over again. I’ll work with you to create a ceremony that is as special as the day you were wed.

Perhaps you have a special anniversary coming up, or maybe your wedding day wasn’t the dream day you hoped for with important guests absent or it is time to reignite that beautiful occasion. Whether you’re celebrating a new beginning or wanting to tell the world that you love each other as much as you did on the day you were married, renewing your vows is a loving experience.

I have many creative ceremonies to include children, guests or parents that will make your ceremony moving and unforgettable.

Commitment ceremonies / Civil partnership ceremonies / Marriage equality

I am very passionately in favour of marriage equality and I would love to help you plan a commitment ceremony or a civil partnership ceremony to celebrate your love in front of your family and friends.

My belief is that “all committed couples should have the right to marry”. To be in love with another human being is to be in touch with your soul mate. It does not matter whether they are male or female, love is love and when soul mates unite, the universe is in synchronicity. Bring on marriage equality!

I’ve been involved in many commitment ceremonies so I can assist you with some unique ideas for your ceremony or we can create a perfect ceremony based on what you both may already have in mind. The ceremony can be as formal as a wedding or a more casual affair. I’m more than happy to travel to any location of your choice.

A Civil Partnership may be entered into by couples regardless of sex. It is a legally recognised relationship between two adults.

Registration provides both partners with proof of the existence of their relationship. This satisfies a range of laws including government assistance, tax and superannuation.

I am happy to speak with you about this and help you with a declaration ceremony for you and your family friends.

And when marriage equality is finally recognized in Australia, I will be here for you, ready to organize and celebrate your love in marriage.

Remember, love is love and love is what makes us human and fulfilled in life.
